Our pieces
We work with a small network of ateliers — our own in Bucharest, and a handful of specialist partners. Every piece is made by hand, by people we know. We choose each partner for a particular craft, and nothing carries our name until it has been checked by hand.
We work primarily with natural fibres — linen, silk, cotton, wool — from longstanding mills and small suppliers we’ve come to know personally over the years. We avoid synthetics and we choose materials that age beautifully. The composition of each piece is listed on its product page; if you’d like to know more about the origin of a specific fabric, just ask us.
Yes. Many of our pieces can be made to order, and we also take adjustment requests — length, sleeve, fit — on most styles. Made-to-order pieces are typically ready within 2–3 weeks; we confirm the exact timing with you when you place your order.
Each product page has a size guide with measurements. Because our pieces are made in small runs and some by hand, fit can vary a little between styles. If you’re between sizes or unsure, write to us with your measurements — we’ll tell you honestly which size to choose, or whether a small adjustment would serve you better.
Gently, and it will last for years. We recommend following the care label sewn into each garment. Natural fibres like linen and silk prefer cool hand-washing or specialist dry-cleaning rather than a hot machine. When in doubt, write to us before you wash — we’d much rather answer a question than see a piece you love come to harm.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from Bucharest. Ready-to-wear orders are dispatched within a few business days; for made-to-order pieces, we’ll let you know the timeline when we confirm your order. We work with DHL, FedEx, UPS, and DPD, choosing the carrier best suited to your destination.
For orders within the European Union: no — all duties and taxes are included in the price you see at checkout.
For orders outside the EU (including the **United Kingdom**, United States, Switzerland, and others): your order may be subject to local VAT and customs duties on arrival. These are set by your country’s customs authority and are the buyer’s responsibility. If this is a concern before you order, write to us — we can usually give you a good estimate.
Returns
We accept returns within 30 days of receiving your piece, as long as it’s unused and in the same condition it arrived in. To start a return, just write to us at irina@lesvacancesdirina.com and we’ll guide you through it.
If you’re in the EU or the UK and you’d like to exchange your piece or take store credit, the return is on us. For a refund to your original payment — and for any return from outside the EU and UK — return shipping is the buyer’s responsibility.
Once your piece is back with us and checked, we’ll arrange your exchange, credit, or refund within 14 days.
Made-to-order and fully custom pieces can’t be returned — these are made specifically for you, and we confirm every detail with you before we begin.

You’re welcome to drop in during opening hours. If you’d prefer a quieter visit or a proper styling appointment with one of us, write ahead and we’ll set aside the time.
